Winter Storm and Quilting is a Good Thing

On Tuesday Oklahoma received 12 inches of snow.  For us, who rarely receive snow, this is a big deal.  So guess what?  I had an excuse to stay in and finish my Star Crazy Quilt...woohoo!!
I had to lay it on the carpet and stand on a ladder to get a picture of the entire quilt.

Here it is laying on the queen size bed in our guest room.  I am going to hire someone to machine quilt it.  The quilt will end up on this bed.  I will be redecorating the room, painting the walls, new curtains, new bed skirt, etc using this quilt as my design inspiration.

Ladies, I have enjoyed the year.  I have made many new friends through this blog.  Thank you again Nedra for coordinating this.  I will be close by waiting to see more finished quilts.

  2. Yours is just wonderful! *S* I don't think anyone else, at least so far, has used red and white as the dominant colors.

Yes, I think many of us are thinking of sending it off for quilting. *L* It's a beast, isn't it? Some of the hand quilters are brave, but I did enough struggling in my home machine to last me.

Once you get the room all decorated, it would be wonderful to see that. You have your blog, don't you? Seems to me I read it?......I'm still in a blizzard haze here. *L*

In any event......you get a blue ribbon!

  6. I, too love the colors you chose for this quilt. The red really sets it off. Congrats on getting it finished.
All of us had the same instructions but chose our own colors, so they all look different. This was a really fun project.

  10. I agree...snowstorms are at least good for quilting! What a lovely top! I sit snowbound again...so perhaps something creative can happen instead of simple bedlam! ;-) Happy Stitching!

  11. log furniture is available in a number of local log furniture stores, lifestyle and online. The furniture is mostly made by hand, and rarely done with the help of electric drills and other tools.
